Various small-scale technologies are available for developing communities. These include water harvesting techniques, treadle pumps, a hand pump and tower gardens. These technologies are internationally proven and have been effective in reducing poverty by promoting cost effective production for the household and local markets. RIEng is closely associated with these technologies, which can assist in alleviating poverty, and have developed some of them.
