• Bulb Mutation Technology - Project management is provided for this project of the Institute for Vegetable and Ornamental Plants of the ARC. It is funded by the Innovation Fund and has as its goal to develop a new variety of the Lachenalia species.
• Rain water harvesting for household food security. This project evaluated the construction methods for sub-surface storage in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal and Freestate. Several rainwater reservoirs were constructed as demonstration units, using local builders. This is done for the Department of Water Affairs (DWAF)
• Development of training material for homestead food production. The participatory development of appropriate training material on behalf of the Water Research Commission for use by community facilitators is the final product of this research project over 4 years.
